Week 3

Colour Poetry- I stumbled across this poem written by a lady in lockdown. It just shows you don't have to be a professional writer to be a poet! For this week's task, I would like to you choose a colour and write a poem about what it represents. Perhaps orange reminds you of autumn leaves. Perhaps red reminds you of the feeling of scraped knees or the taste of strawberries. If you do not want to write a poem perhaps you could think about what personality your colour has and write a story about it. For a non-fiction piece of writing, research how colour has been used in history. Did you know that arsenic is the colour of green and they painted Napoleon's bedroom in arsenic green whilst in exile? Historians believe that this could have eventually killed him!? If that interests you, I recommend you read 'Colours of History' by Clive Gifford
