Welcome to Miro Class!

Homework

Homework is handed out every Thursday and is due in the following Tuesday.
Each week, children are set a spellings task to practise their spellings in preparation for a test on Tuesday afternoons.

Children are also set a Maths challenge on the 'My Maths' website to revise what they have been learning during the week at school. Children have been given their log in details to gain access to this.

It is also important that children are reading at home at least three times a week to enhance their learning and reading ability.

Children can choose a book from the school reading scheme and are free to take a book home from the class library too.

Any reading needs to be recorded in their reading records which are checked every Thursday.

Half Term homework challenge

See above for the Half Term challenge which is based upon our school theme of Escape.

Children have until November 12th to complete one or more activity/activities of their choice.

Science- Electricity!

During our first term in year 4, Miro learnt about electrical circuits and conducted our own experiments of good and bad conductors.

We even had fun creating our own electrical buzzer game, take a look at our inventions...

Outdoor Learning and Teamwork week (15th-19th Oct 2018)

Miro had a very exciting non-school uniform week.

We had a great trip to Deda where we learnt a dance for our Christmas production of Hansel and Gretel. Then we performed our new dance, to half the school, on the stage at Derby Theatre.

During this week we created;

  • Outdoor portraits of our selves using natural resources
  • Played team building games
  • Completed our Art Awards for Derby Theatre
  • Conducted a maths hunt around the school grounds
  • Made dream catchers
  • Designed and built a sacred place using recycling- Thank you for all of your help at home to resource this!

See the photos below of what we created.
